Slowly made by hand, this one-of-a-kind quilt brings together the warmth of plant-dyed cloth with the beautiful texture of natural fibers.
The golden fabric was hand dyed with pomegranate rind, creating a softly variegated color that could only come from the natural dye pot. It is paired with crisp white linen and backed in soft blue chambray, a quiet, timeless combination intended to grow more beautiful with use.
Each line of quilting was stitched by hand using Sashiko thread and the binding was finished by hand with visible Sashiko thread. After washing, the linen, cotton, and hand stitching settled into a wonderfully soft heirloom crinkle, giving the quilt the relaxed texture of a piece that has already begun its story.
Generously sized for a crib, reading corner, or favorite lap quilt, it was made to be used, loved, washed, and eventually passed along.
